Tone Camerata : Gestures from Andrew Styan on Vimeo.

Thank you to the experimental music ensemble Tone Camerata for the invitation to create the visual projections for the first public performance of their work “Gestures”. It was a rewarding experience to work with this talented group.

Gestures is inspired by Newcastle, it’s environments, and it’s people. The show will re-imagine Newcastle as concentric circles; oceans; bush; industry/coal; suburbia; bus network; inner city cafe and university culture. Through the use of sound, movement, and visual projection this show guides the audience through each circle, ultimately moving to the centre: the audience. Themes of symbolic ritual are explored where the repetition of day to day life is expressed in music and movement.
