In March of 2014 Prime Minister Abbott explained to a Forestry Products Association dinner the policy of the coalition government towards forests; flagging to the industry and the world at large the attitude of the government that a forest “wasn’t just a place of beauty, but it was a source of resources; of the ultimate renewable resource, of the ultimate biodegradable resource.”

Perhaps a sign of things to come, and not just in regard to forests.
