Our roadsides are dotted with memorials to those who have had their lives tragically cut short by road accidents. For the unseen family and friends who lovingly create and maintain them they are sacred places that help to make sense of their loss and perhaps fulfil a need that is no longer met by established religions. To everyone else they can be beautiful, heart wrenching, a curiosity, difficult to understand or just a distraction in the daily routine.

This series explore the loss and the love contained within these spaces.

The work was exhibited at Watt Space Gallery, Newcastle in April 2013.
